Bitcoin is trading in a medium-term uptrend, opening the way for further gains and a new high, while a break below the $79,000 support area could lead to a retest of the $73,000 area in today’s trading.

Bitcoin approached the $80,000 level for the first time since mid-May after reaching $79,975 during the session and posting weekly gains of 22.6%, its best performance since March 2023. The rally was supported by renewed institutional inflows, an improving regulatory environment for cryptocurrencies in the United States, and stronger demand for alternative assets amid pressure in the bond market. President Donald Trump’s call to pass the Clarity Act also boosted expectations for a clearer regulatory framework for the crypto sector.
